High Bailiff LaMothe Monday conducted an inquiry at Knockaloe camp touching the death of an interned alien named Wilhelm Hoyer. Capt Sparkes, adjutant, Camp 4 said the deceased was a german interned in camp 4, compound 6, No 26525. He was 45 years old and was a butcher. He was arrested in Liverpool in Aug 1914, tfr to Knockaloe from Alex. Pal on 1 Aug 1916. He was a single man and had no english address. Dr McGeagh, resident medical officer, camp 4 said dec'd was admitted to hospital on June 11th suffering from valvular disease of the heart and haemorrhage of the lungs. Condition improved under treatment as far as hem. was concerned until 12.30 on Sat. when a large blood vessel gave way, he succumbed in few minutes. Examination showed there was no TB. Cause of death valcular disease of the heart, degeneration of the blood vessels and haemorrhage.
