January 3 1896

William gave trouble at first through being untruthful, meddlesome, but is much improved has grown, is learning to work, is very strong for his age, can milk and manage the horses well. He is very quiet about the house, talks very little, will go to school as soon as it opens

January 20 1897, with William Cadman, Holloway, Ontario

Willie was busy sorting apples, he is a strong healthy looking boy. Is well liked by his master. He made fair progress at school last winter. Attends church and Sunday school regularly.

July 26 1897, with Robert Maybee, Wellmans Corner, Ontario

William is in a good home, well treated and cared for. Is careless and does not like to be corrected for doing wrong. Works principally about the house so has not much work to do. Goes regularly to church and Sunday school but very unwillingly Mrs Maybee says that as long as he stays that he must attend church services.

On February 6, 1917, William Faggetter, 30, munition worker, crossed into the United States through the port of Niagara Falls, New York. He declared that he resided at 24 Court Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in Manchester, England; that he was going for an indefinite visit to his brother, George Faggetter, who resided at Niagara Falls; that his contact in England was his father, James Faggetter; and that he arrived in Canada on an unknown ship in March 1899.

On October 13, 1917, at St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, William Faggetter, 33, was drafted into the Canadian Armed Forces under the Military Service Act of 1917. He declared that he resided at 24 Court Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada; that his Military Service Act No. was 805830; that his date of birth was December 24, 1883; that he was born in Manchester, England; that he was single; that he was a member of the Church of England; that he was a machinist by trade; and that his next of kin was his friend, Robert Maybee, who resided at Wellmans Corners, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. He was described as 5 foot 7 inches in height; dark complexion; grey eyes; brown hair.

William Faggetter returned from military service to Canada on January 18, 1919, on the ship Olympic.
