William Victor Lefort died on April 18, 1907, at Edmonton Workhouse. He died of paraplegia & medical exhaustion caused by a blow to the head after a fall off an icy step.

In 1909, Frank Lefort, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 161 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On February 28, 1916, at Barris, Ontario, Canada, Frank Benjamin Le Forte enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided in Barris, Ontario; that he was born at 22 Morville Street, Bow, East London, England; that his next of kin was his mother, Aggie Head, who resided at 22 Morville Street, Bow, East London, England; that he was a farm labourer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 4-3/4 inches in height; dark complexion; brown hair; brown eyes. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Frank changed his name to Frank Marshall La Forte. He married Verna Evelyn Olive Poole on March 15, 1925, at Aldershot, Hampshire, England. they had two children: Edward James La Forte, born November 6, 1927, at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England; and Frank Richard La Forte, born March 21, 1926, in March, Cambridgeshire, England.
