15 Aug 1906 Marriage records in Perth County, Ontario state that Alfred Charles Osborne married Nellie Scott (Ellen Mosey Scott). Alfred states he was born in Scotland about 1885, his father's name is unknown but his mother's name is Caroline O McDonald.

1911 Canadian Census records place the family of Ellen M and Alfred C Osborne in . Alfred was born Jul 1885 in Scotland, and immigrated to Canada in 1894. Daughters Gertrude May (4) and Clara Winnifred (2) are in residence, along with widowed Boarder Alexander J Simpson (52). Alfred is a Machinist by trade at a Ladder Factory.

Attestation papers were signed 13 Sep 1915 in Stratford, Ontario. Alfred Charles Osborne states that he was born 30 Jul 1887 in Nargate, Kent, England. He was a Stationery Engineer by trade. His Next of Kin was his Wife, Nellie Osborne of 366 Albert Street, Stratford, Ontario. He had previous Military Experience with the 28th Perth Regiment for 1.5 years. 5' 2 1/2" in height with brown eyes and dark hair, he had a small mole 1.5" right below umbilicus, and a 1.5" scar long his left elbow. His religion was listed as Baptist.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty states that he was previously reported Missing, and then Killed in Action in an attack south west of Givenchy, Nord Pas de Calais, France. His Next of Kin was Mrs. A. C. Osborne of 366 Albert Street, Stratford, Ontario. He was buried in Canadian Cemetery No. 2, Neuville-Saint Vaast, Nord Pas de Calais, France. Plot: 3. B. 24.

1921 Canadian Census records place widowed Ellen Osborne at 366 Albert Street, Stratford, Perth, Ontario in the residence of her mother, Mary Scott. Daughters Gertrude (14), Winifred (12), and Evelyn (9), were also in residence, along with Boarders Hilda and Harry Kent.
