In 1924, Harry Bennion, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 39 Salvation Army boys en route to Ontario and Manitoba, Canada. He declared that he was a student whose intended occupation was as a farmer. His destination was Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was born in Ainsworth, England. His next of kin was Mrs. [Elizabeth] Bennion, who resided at 164 Inkerman Street, Preston, Lancashire, England.
Worked as farm labourer in southern Manitoba.
Harry Bennion married Inez Verdun Klier. They had at least two children: Bryan Bennion; and Janice Bennion.

BENNION: Harry Bennion, aged 79 years, of the Fairview Home and formerly of 233 Victoria Ave. E., Brandon, passed away on April 25, 1988. Mr. Bennion was born in Preston, England, on June 29, 1908. He came to Canada in 1924 and settled in the Hayfield, Man., district where he farmed until joining the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. On March 2, 1942, he married Inez Verdun Klier and they had been residents of Brandon since 1945. Mr. Bennion was employed with Breen Motors until 1954 and then with Sharpe's Auto Electric until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 3., Brandon. Predeceased by his wife Inez on Nov. 2, 1987, Mr. Bennion is survived by: a son Bryan of Ottawa, Ont.; a daughter Janice Draper of Brandon and two grandchildren Suzanne and Mark Draper also of Brandon. A private family funeral service is to be held with interment following in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined.
