Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty states that he had previously been reported wounded and missing, and the Killed in Action at the attack of Mount Sorrel, east of Ypres, West Flanders, Belgium. Next of Kin was Ms. M I Murray of R R No. 1, Milton, Ontario, however an additional note states they were unable to locate his Next of Kin. His body was not recovered, his name is listed on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West Flanders, Belgium.
