NotesIn 1881, Emma Brew, 2 years of age, was shown residing at 3 Seaton Street, Chelsea, London, England. Other family members included: Caroline Brew, 7; Mary Brew, 26, married; Mary Brew, 6; Sarah Brew, 4; William Brew, 5 weeks. (Source: 1881 Census of England; Class: RG11; Piece: 75; Folio: 4; Page: 2; GSU roll: 1341017.)

MacPherson records indicate that there was no information on their mother other than she was a "great drunkard". The father is listed as Henry Brew and a London address is given. It does say he is respectable, but was sorely tried with regard to his children. He did pay a weekly sum from his wages for his daughters' maintenance (4 of them). It appears as though he must have taken them to Annie Macpherson in October of 1884.

In 1885, Emma Brew, 5 (along with sister, Sarah Brew, 7) arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of 28 males and 32 females accompanied by Mr. Merry and en route to Stratford, Ontario, Canada. (Sisters, Caroline Ellen, 10, and Mary, 9, also sailed on the Sardinian, but arrived in Quebec August 8, 1885.)

In 1891, Emma Brew, 10, was shown as a domestic / servant to James and Jane Smith in Pipestone, Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada.

Emma was adopted by James Smith and Jane (Duncan) Smith in July 1885. She became their 10th child.

In 1901, Emma J. Brew, 21, servant, is shown residing as a lodger in the home of James and Mary Callan in Pipestone, Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as March 11, 1880 and her immigration year as 1884.

Emma married Daniel Creedon in 1901 and between 1901 and 1918 had seven children (one died in infancy): Bertha Louise Creedon; Leonard Creedon; Wilbur Creedon; John Humphrey Creedon, 1902?1991; Evelyn Mary Creedon, 1906?1993; Howard Marion Creedon, 1910?1991; Mina Creedon, 1914?1977.

Daniel Wilbur Creedon was killed on railway on April 17, 1923, at the age of 47. Emma Jane Brew Creedon died on April 19, 1967, at Brandon, Souris, Manitoba, Canada in her 87th year. She is buried in Souris, Manitoba.
