NotesRobert Plenderleith Aitken was born illegitimate on September 15, 1904, at 1:30 a.m., at Limefield, Wiston & Roberton, Lanarkshire, Scotland, to Mary Aitken, domestic servant.

On October 3 1920, Robert Plendergth Aitken, 15, arrived at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, in a group of 60 Quarrier boys accompanied by Mr. William Douglas. Upon arrival, he declared his aim in coming was to settle and do farm work; his destination was Fairknowe Home, Brockville, Ontario; he had no known family in his home country; and his birthplace was Lanark, Scotland.

[POSSIBLE MATCH] In December 1923, Robert Aitken, 20, pipe fitter, entered the United States through the port of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He declared that he resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba; that his contact in Canada was Mrs. Jean, who reside at 607 Rosedale Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; that his final destination was Chicago, Illinois; that he carried $30 on his person; that he was going to visit his friend, T. K. Donnelly, who resided at 1515 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois; that he intended to visit for less than 6 months. He was described as 5 foot 8 inches in height; medium complexion; light brown hair; brown eyes. He was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland.
