In 1891, Janet is the daughter of Elix A and Richard Letford of 13 Backcauseway, Kirkintilloch, Dumbartonshire, Scotland.

1911 Canadian Census for William Letford in the household of Ellen and Henry Wright. Listed as Domestic, William was born in May 1897 in Scotland.

Attestation papers for World War I were signed on 7 Oct 1915 in Brookville Ontario. William was born 4 May 1887 in Scotland. Next of Kin was listed as Miss Effie Letford, his sister, in Elgin, Ontario, Canada. 5'7" in height with blue eyes and light brown hair, William had a burn scar all along his left shin bone.
