NotesSusan was one of 4 children born to unwed parents. She and two siblings were placed in care of Quarriers in 1881 and sent to Canada in 1884. A 4th sibling was sent to Canada in 1891.

Susan was my grandmother, and received placement in Forrester Falls, Ontario with the John Johnson family. At 15 she was married to a 35 year old farmer, William Livingston, and bore a son one year later. I believe she abandoned the marriage, and moved to Ottawa where she appeared in the 1901 census as working as a waitress. William was listed as "widowed" in that census, and the son, William Russell Livingston was in care of his aunt, Susana Byce. In the same census, James Agger, a resident of the United States, was visiting his sister and brother in law in Ottawa. They appeared to have formed a relationship and moved to Troy, New York by 1902. Two sons were born to them, including my father, Harold Agger. I have traced thefamily through City Directories until 1915, when James abandoned them. My father was placed in an orphanage, and later was sent to Port Arthur, Ontario, where he grew up. I don't know what happened to Susan and son, Robert from 1915-1925. In that year my father returned from Canada to Troy, N.Y. as did Susan and her son, Robert. The three lived together in Troy, until 1929. In that year, Robert died of scarlett fever and my father married. Susan continued to live in Troy until her death in April, 1960. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetary, Troy, New York with her son, Robert.
