MARCHMONT HOME BOY SUICIDES BY POISON

BELLEVILLE, June 24.--Fred Temple, 14, Marchmont Home boy living for the last three years on the farm of F. H. Bedell ... died in hospital Monday from poisoning, having drunk paris green Sunday night. It is thought that the boy's action was the result of his failure to pass his entrance examinations. (Lethbridge Herald, June 24, 1924, page 3.)

An inquest was heard on July 2, 1924, in which a "verdict of suicide while mentally deranged was rendered ... by a coroner's jury which investigated the death of Frederick Temple, 14 year old Marchmont home boy, who swallowed paris green. The was well treated at the home of Frank Bedell, where he committed suicide as shown by evidence." (The Manitoba Free Press, July 3, 1924, page 11.)
