NotesIn 1881, Mary Devlin, 3 years of age, was shown residing at 163 Crownpoint Street, Glasgow Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Other family members included: James Devlin, 33, Iron Work Laborer; Jessie Devlin, 33; Margaret Devlin, 13; and Sarah Devlin, 5. Mary, Sarah and James Devlin were sent to Quarriers Home at Bridge of Weir in 1888. They had lost their mother to complications of childbirth and their father to his having been kicked by a horse.

In 1889, Mary Devlin, 11 (along with sister, Sarah Devlin, 13; and brother James Devlin, 7) arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 123 Quarrier children en route to the Distributing Home for Scottish Children, Fairknowe, Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

Mary's brother, James, was found to be diabetic and was returned to Scotland, where he died and is buried at the Quarriers Home.

On November 15, 1899, at Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Mary Devlin, 20, born in Glasgow, Scotland, to James Devlin and Margt Pettigrew; and John Scott, 31, farmer, born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, to John Watt Scott and Rebecca Duthie.

In 1901, Mary Scott, 23, was shown residing at Gloucester, Russell, Ontario, Canada, along with her husband, John Scott, 33, farmer; son, Russel Scott, 7 months; and boarder, Alex Cameron, 58, farmer. Her date of birth is shown as June 15, 1878, and her immigration year from Scotland as 1889.

In 1911, Mary Scott, 35, was shown residing at Gloucester, Russell, Ontario, Canada, along with her husband, John Scott, 49, locksmith(?); and children: Russell Scott, 11; and John Scott, 4. Her date of birth is not shown and her immigration year from Scotland is shown as 1889.

John and Mary Devlin Scott had at least 3 children: Euphamie Rebecca Scott, born October 10, 1909; John Watt Duthie Scott, born February 7, 1907; and Russell A. Scott, born March 18, 1901.

Mary Devlin Scott died in 1946 in Manotick, Ontario, Canada.
