NotesThe father Thomas Marrs was killed in a pit accident in 1889 in Fife. His widow Esther Mawhinney remarried about 1891 to George Phillips. She gave four of her children to the Quarrier Homes and they were all sent to Canada. A fifth child was adopted out to a local family. She then started a second family with her second husband.
