NotesOrphan 1870's-80's. Originally from Italy where her father was a glass maker. Moved to (Liverpool) England, where mother died of tuberculosis. Her father could not look after 4 children and handed them over to Barnardos. Father hoped to return to Italy.

In April 1880, Catharine Barzarkie, 10 along with her sister Lizzie Barzarkie, 7 arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in a group travelling with Louisa Birt en route to Knowlton, Quebec. Her brother Charles (aged 2) and sister Tereza (aged 4) followed in August of that year aboard the Sardinian.

Mary was originally placed with Versel P. Chamberlain and his family in Brome, Quebec, Canada.

Married Thomas Charles Reinge in 1897 in Fitzroy, Carleton. They adopted William in 1902 (he died in 1917).

All three are buried at St Paul's Anglican Cemetery in Fitzroy, Ontario.
