Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that he died of wounds at Number 5 Casualty Clearing Station after being hit with machine gun fire while in operations east of Amiens, Somme, Picardie, France. His Next of Kin was listed as Mrs. Fred Sproule of 115 Millton Street, Sarnia, Ontario. Forms were later dispatched to Mrs. Harriet Moon of 67 Forest Road, Turnbridge Wells, England.
