He declared that he resided at #28 Birmingham Street, Guelph, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland; that his next of kin was his father, James Abbott, who resided at Church Street, Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland; that he was born January 27, 1896; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 9 inches in height; fresh complexion; gray eyes; dark hair. He was a member of the Church of England. He had a small scar on the bridge of his nose; also one on his middle lower jaw, left side; and a half-moon scar on dorsal aspect of left thumb.
