In 1915, Robert Antwis, 24, shipping clerk, crossed into America via Detroit, next of kin named as sister-Mrs Westenburg [EDITORS NOTE: in 1904, Marion Daisy Antwis married George Westenborg in Swansea, Wales], 35 Plymouth St, Swansea, he was going to join a friend-G Guymer, 272 Concord Ave, Detroit, Michigan.
On June 18, 1917, Robert Antwis registered for the United States draft. He declared that he resided at 12225 North Larch, Lansing, Michigan; that he was born June 18, but did not know the year; that he was an alien; that he was born in South Wales, England; that he was working on a farm and employed by Mrs. Nellie [illegible]. He was described as medium height; medium build; grey eyes; brown hair.
On July 7, 1925, Robert Antwis, Jr., married Lucy Borkowski, daughter of Ignatius Borkowski and
Antonina Rozolek, in Munger, Bay, Michigan, USA. At least one child was born of this marriage: Marilyn Therese Antwise, born April 6, 1931, in Royal Oak, Oakland, Michigan, USA; died June 22, 2012, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
