NotesA birth registration was found for Jessie Isabel Jordan: Date: Jan-Feb-Mar 1908; District: Mutford; County: Suffolk; Volume: 4a; Page: 1143. Mother: Isabel Frances Jordan.

In 1921, Jessie I Jordon, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 134 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She declared that her present occupation was school girl; that her intended occupation was in domestic work; that she her birthplace was unknown; that her passage was paid by Dr. Barnardo's Homes; that her destination was to Mrs. Hobday, Hazel Brae, Peterboro, Ontario, Canada; and that she had no relatives in England; and that her nearest relation was her mother, Miss Jordon, c/o Mr. Gilbert, 88 St. Leonards Road, Kirkley Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.

A juvenile inspector reported [T-15423]: JORDAN, Jessie I, 14, 1921 Barnardo to the Home in Peterboro then to King and Aurora. "Progress good, but sulky at times. Jessie is very happy in this situation,
would not care to leave".

Barnardos Ups and Downs, Vol XXXIII, No. 3, September 5, 1931 reported:

"Jessie Jordan has been here a long time and is still happy."

Jessie Isabel Jordan died on March 21, 2006.
