"August 15th 1903: Elizabeth Gravatt.
Father: Alfred Gravatt of 61 Avondale Road Sparkhill, Birmingham. Four children, Eldest 13, youngest 5- one an imbecile & going into asylum.
Mother a great drunkard, living apart from her husband & if she meets the children she strips them of clothing & pawns in to get money for drink. She has twice been comitted to gaol- being drunk and using obscene language. Father is a tin plate worker for SMiths in Seymour St, Balsall Heath- earns 26/-per week. He was in business for himself as a dish cover maker, but owing to his wife's conduct he gave it up as she caused drunken disturbances in the shop.
Mrs Bradbury, Iron Monger of Gooch Street, confirms father regarding the mother's conduct.
father to pay 2/6 weekly for two years"

Florence (Known as Elizabeth/ Lizzie was first placed with FH Sheffield at Upper Dyke Village, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada. In 1907, according to the settlement reports, she was moved to Mr S Patterson at Kings, Nova Scotia.
Elizabeth married James William Seaman in 1910 Kings Nova Scotia
