NotesGeorge Henry Thomas and his 4 siblings' father died in 1890 and their mother could not look after them. Two girls were adopted out in England and the other three children were sent to Canada. Harry was sent to Stratford Ontario and ended up in Lambton County. He joined the CEF in July 1917. He married after returning from the War and he and his wife Margaret Newton settled in Courtright. Harry's mother and brother and sisters were reunited in the US but they lost contact with him.
