NotesA birth registration was found for Frederick Jobson: Date: Oct-Nov-Dec 1877; District: Aston; County: Warwickshire; Volume: 6d; Page: 397. Parents: Henry Jobson (Driver Royal Artilary) and Sarah Elizabeth Wagstaff, married October 22, 1861, at Aston, Warwickshire, England.

A death registration was found for Sarah Elizabeth Jobson: Date: Apr-May-Jun 1882; Age: 41; District: Birmingham; County: Warwickshire; Volume: 6d; Page: 16.

Frederick and Harriett Jobson were taken from their Father (a discharged solider), Henry and placed in the Middlemore home in 1883, sometime after their mother had died. Their father could not look after them. They did have older siblings who were taking care of themselves, but I do not know their names, or any other circumstances of their life. Frederick did not remember his life in England or who his family were.

In 1884, Fredrick R. Jobson, 5 (along with sister, Harriet Jobson, 8) arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 93 Middlemore children en route to various destinations.

Frederick and Harriet (Hattie) arrived at the Guthrie Home in London, Ontario, Canada, where they were split up. [EDITORS NOTE: Fred was devastated that he lost contact with his sister. Family members remember him sitting with a far-away look and then saying that he wished he knew what happened to his sister, that he regretted losing contact with her.]

As a young man he worked on ships on the Great Lakes.
