On November 12, 1917, at Saint Michael the Archangel, rue St-Viateur, Montr?al, Quebec, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur Aloysius Cassidy, of age, son of the late Thomas Cassidy and Mary [illegible]; and Blanche Burnham, of age, daughter of William Burnham and Bridget Cleary.

He declared that he resided at 2805 Drolet Street, Montr?al, Quebec, Canada; that he was born January 15, 1895; that he was born in Yorkshire, England; that he was married; that he was a Roman Catholic; that he was a clerk; that his next of kin was his wife, Mrs. Arthur Cassidy of the same residence; and that he had previously served with the 19th Battery, Montr?al, Quebec, Canada, for six months. He was described as 5 foot 7 inches in height; medium complexion; grey eyes; light brown hair.

His grandson, Jim Leroux recounted:

"I loved, admired and greatly respected my grandfather who was happily married to my grandmother for 56 years at the time of his death. He also worked for the same company for more than 50 years. His four surviving children always wondered about his past, as my grandfather never spoke of it. The only two exceptions were when he mentioned a Mr. Goff(?) and the fact that he worked at a church in Peterborough only to run away because he was unhappy with his chore demands. The Mr. Goff, my grandfather seemed to admire so much could have been a teacher or caregiver that left him with the adage, 'It's not to be, it's what you make it.'"
