NotesIn 1886, Frank Bush, 16, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 9 boys from Barton Regis Union, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, accompanied by Mr. Bird, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888."

Frank Bush, aged 16. From Barton Regis Union. Now with Richard McQuinn, South Branch, Kennebeccasis River, King's County. He was placed with Wm. Adair, New Town, King's County; stayed one month only, Adair returned him, placed at once with Captain Blanche, Sussex, and stayed eleven (11) months, who gave him a splendid home; in a word, a good boy. Left, cause-wages; went to Richard McQuinn, Penobsquis, at $3 per month. Mr. McQuinn moving to South Branch, Kennebeccasis River, where he bought a farm, took Frank with him. Mr. and Mrs. McQuinn pronounced him a very good boy, and so say all the neighbours in the vicinity where he lived. He is now 18, yet doesn't look over 15.(small), likes his home, says it is the best one he has had, he would not leave it, he has verily a good one; he writes and receives letters from Mrs. Townsend every month; all he would like to see of England is his mother; no more."
