Notes Henry's mother died in childbirth. He was adopted when he was a few months old by Annie & Ernest Wankling. Ernest died 1904. Annie married William Mountney 1906 the year Henry was sent to Middlemore orphanage. Henry was sent to Bath, New Brunswick where he lived/worked for Amos Gibberson. By all accounts he was well looked after. Henry served with the 5th Canadian Rifles in WW1 serving in France. At this time he changed his name back to Lewis. He married Inez Ruby Dyer in 1922 in Woodstock, Carleton County, New Brunwick. Henry died in 1939 in New Britain, Connecticut.
