NotesParents: Henry (Harry) Lewis and Rose Esther Fagg, married 1902, Eastry, Kent, England.

Thomas' parents (Harry, died before 1925; and Rose, died 1926) and 3 siblings (Maud Lewis, died 1928; John Charles Lewis, died 1927; and Harry William Lewis, died 1925) all died of tuberculosis, leaving Tom and older brothers George (born 1907) and Edward (born 1912); sister Bessie May (born 1908); and younger half-sister Mary (b 1919).

In 1929, Thomas Lewis, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 30 boys from the Church of England Waifs & Strays en route to Gibbs? Home, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

There are family stories that Tom died soon after reaching Canada.
