In 1911, Arthur G. Skinner, 10 (along with brother, William David Skinner, 11), arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 205 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
On February 23, 1924, at Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur George Skinner, 23, inspector, born in Chatham, England, to William David Skinner and Clara Caddick; and Kathleen Johnson, 20, born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, to Samuel Johnson and Sarah Donnelly.
It appears that their mother, Clara Skinner, may have arrived in Canada on August 1, 1913, on the ship Empress of Britain. A Clara Skinner, aged 46, widow, was on that voyage. Further, on November 10, 1923, a marriage was registered between Clara Skinner, 51 (widow, born about 1871 in England, daughter of David Caddick and Harriet Morier) and William Carmody, 51.
