In 1901, Arthur Bailey, 4 years of age, was an inmate of Dr Barnardos Babies Castle, Hawkhurst, Kent, England, along with her siblings, Elsie Bailey, 5, and Hilda Bailey (twins). (Source: 1901 Census of England; Class: RG13; Piece: 777; Folio: 88; Page: 3.)

In 1906, Arthur Bailey, 9 (along with siblings, Elsie Bailey, 10 and Hilda Bailey, 10) arrived in Quebec, Canada, with a group of 379 children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On February 1, 1916, Arthur Henry Baily enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided in Wyevale, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in Gloucestershire, England; that his next of kin was his sister, Hilda Bailey, who resided in Alton, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was July 10, 1896; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 5-1/2 inches in height; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; brown hair. He was a member of the Church of England.

Private Arthur Henry Bailey died on January 5, 1918, in France. He is buried in BRISTOL (ARNO'S VALE) CEMETERY, in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. (Grave Reference: 6. 700.)
