In 1901, Vincent Shotton, 9, is shown as a boarder in the home of Charles and Emma Bryant, at The Common, Stuston, Suffolk, England. He and two other boys, Charles Seymour, 10, and Albert Wilkenson, 10, are described as "three boys from Dr. Barnardos Home in Stepney Causeway, London." In 1901, Vincent Shotton, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 117 children en route to Toronto, Ontario, and Manitoba, Canada.

On September 4, 1903, in Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, Vincent Shotton, 13, drowned while bathing.

Huntsville, Sept. 5--On Friday a Barnardo home boy named Vincent Shotten was drowned near this place, whilst bathing. The boy was recovered.
