NotesA birth registration was found for Richard Insall Carloss: Year of Registration: 1873; Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec; District: Clifton; County: Gloucestershire; Volume: 6a; Page: 122. Parents: Richard Insall Carloss and Mary Townley, married 1857, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.

In 1886, R Carless, 14 (along with brother A Carloss, 16), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 9 boys from Barton Regis Union, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, accompanied by Mr. Bird, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Carloss, 30, widower, baker, bron in Bristol, England, to Richard and Mary Carloss; and Ella May Almon, 25, born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, to Edward and Christiana Almon. Arthur Richard Carloss and Josie K. Carloss were witnesses to the marriage.

Richard Insall and Ella May Almon Carloss had at least 2 children: Arthur Richard Carloss, born February 3, 1907; and Bessie May Carloss, June 15, 1905.

Richard Insall Carloss died on January 17, 1955, at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
