In 1926, Albert Edward Armstrong, 15, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, in a group of 20 young persons emigrated through the Canadian Government Land Settlement Scheme. He declared that he was born in Birmingham, Great Britain; that he was a scholar and intended to remain a scholar in Canada; that he was en route through the Land Settlement Program, Government Hostel, Clementsport, Nova Scotia, Canada; and that he had no relations in the UK [the name Mr. James Brown, Normanton, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England, was crossed out.]
