In 1884, Thomas Campbell, 10 (along with brother, Edward Campbell, 12), arrived at Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, in a group of 13 children from the Colonization Fund, London, England, accompanied by J. F. Boyd and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Thomas Campbell, aged 10 years, from Middlesbrough Union, Report. placed with Antheme Lanthier, St. Eustache, P.Q. The same may be said of this boy." [EDITORS NOTE: That is "Good lad, his employer well pleased with him; the boy is well cared for by the family."
