On February 12, 1918, at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur William Slade, 21, soldier, born in Birmingham, England (parents not shown); and Lottie Grace Clooney, 21, born in Caledonia, Nova Scotia, Canada, to William and Bessie Clooney.

On August 15, 1919, Arthur William Slade, laborer, born April 2, 1897, in Birmingham, England, crossed in the United States through the port of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. He declared that his last permanent residence was at Dill Quartz Mines, Ontario, Canada. Remarks and Endorsements: "A record of Registry granted Nov. 29, 1951 . . . Data as of Registry--ARTHUR WILLIAM SLADE--born Birmingham, England April 2, 1897; Residence 1010 Yale Street Sacramento, California; Description--6' 0" Ruddy, gray eyes, black-grey hair, Laundry Worker; Marks--Ring finger and little finger off right hand.

Arthur William Slade, born April 2, 1897, became a naturalized citizen of the United States in District Court, Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, on October 17, 1919.

Lottie Grace Slade died on October 10, 1936 at the age of 38 years, occupation house duties. She is shown as the widow of Arthur W. Slade, having died from cirhossis of the liver. She is buried at Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Arthur William Slade, aged 86 (recorded as 96 in California Death Records), died on January 26, 1984, in Sacramento, California, USA. His birth date is incorrectly recorded as April 2, 1887, corrected date is in the SSN Death Index.
