In 1921, Maud Frohock, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 134 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was declared that she was 15; that her birthplace was Dullingham; that her present occupation was domestic work; that her intended occupation was domestic worker; that her object in going to Canada was for domestic work; that she was destined to Mr. Hobday, Hazel Brae, Peterboro, Ontario, Canada; and that her nearest relative in England was her aunt, Mrs. Sterling, who resided at the White Horse Hotel, Cottenham, Cambridgeshire, England.
A juvenile inspector reported [T-15422]:
FROHOCK, Maud E, 15, . . . 1921 Barnardo's 1922-1925 with Mrs Lomas, 40 Mary S., Hamilton. "Maud is treated as one of the family, appears to be very happy. Expects to take her third exam for diploma in Bible Study."
On November 27, 1926, at Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Maud Lomas, 22, domestic, born in England to William Lomas and Emily Reid; and John Thomason, 28, steam lifter, born in England to Samuel H Thomason and Annie Brunton.
