In 1906, Harry Adair, 11, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 100 Quarriers children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
On September 23, 1914, Harry Adair enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Dumfries, Scotland; that he was a farmer; that he was not married; that his next of kin was his father, Joseph Adair, who resided at 3 St. Michael Street, Dumfries, Scotland; and that he had served in the RCBA from 9-13 until to date. He is described as 5 foot 4 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes and fair hair. He had a vaccination mark on his left arm.
