"Took Poison at Penitent Bench.

Saskatoon, Sask., July 19.--Chas. M. Getzham [sic], aged 22, a Barnardo boy, took a quarter of an ounce of crystalized strychnine and died at the penitent bench of the Salvation Army of which he was formerly a member. The deceased, who was steady, honest and industrious, came from Elkhorn, some months since and dropped from the Salvation Army on taking up with a girl, who was not a member. They were engaged, but had a couple of tiffs last Sunday morning. Getzham thereupon bought the poison and went to the Army meeting. Just before the call for penitents the deceased left the hall, took the poison and returned in time to die."
