On 7 March 1916, Eric R Howard, 17, factory hand, crossed into America via Niagara Falls, his contact in Canada was brother-Vincent, 5?? John St, Toronto, Ontario, he was going to Niagara to seek work. He declared he was born in Oxford.

On 2 March 1920, Eric Howard made a 2nd trip to America, this time he was going to a friend-Bert Barrett, Morristown, PA
