On January 20, 1887, Albert Penfold, 26, residing in Almonte, Lanark, Ontario, Canada married Ellen Stewart, 26, daughter of George and Ann Jane Stewart. He declared he had been born in England; that he was a blacksmith; and that his mother's name was Eliza Penfold. He did not know the name of his father.
Arthur Penfold died at his home located at 726 May Avenue, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on December 11, 1931. His death was caused by carcinoma of the intestinal tract (7-8 months) with a contributing factor being general anasarca (2 months). His death certificate states that his birthdate is August 14, 1860; that he was born in Preston, England; that he was a labourer in the City of Windsor; that his parents were unknown as he had been a "Barnardo Home Boy;" and the informant was his wife, Ellen Penfold of the same address as the death had occurred.
Arthur Penfold was buried December 14, 1931, in Windsor Grove Cemetery, Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The undertakers were Leslie & Co.
Alfred & his sister Mary Ann came with Maria Rye (not Barnardos)
