Sophia's parents, Thomas and Caroline arrived with their other children, Oliver, Carolina, Charlotte, Thomas, George, Arthur and Anne, on the ship Peruvian on August 12, 1869.

On April 17, 1892, at South Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, Sophia Elizabeth, Adams, 45, tailoress, died of cancer (duration 15 months).
