NotesEuphemia Smith Stewart Letford born 7th May 1895 Western district of Cadder, Lanark, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

In 1901, Euphemia Litford, 5 years of age, was residing at School Lane, Lennoxtown, Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Other family members included: Esther Litford, 50, general farm worker; Esther Litford, 8; Hugh Litford 2; Janet Litford, 17, general servant domestic; Richard Litford, 10; and William Litford, 3. (Source: 1901 Census of Scotland; Parish: Campsie; ED: 6; Line: 9; Year: 1901.)

In 1909, Euphemia Letford, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 60 children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

In 1911, Euphemia Letford, 15, was shown as a domestic for Elmer E. Welch and family in Crosby South Township, Elgin Village, Leeds, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth was shown as May 1896 and her immigration year as 1909.

She graduated as a nurse in 1919 at St Joseph School of Nursing, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston.

She had a brother and sister still living in Scotland.
