NotesOn December 24, 1871, Thomas Wm Adlington, 23, Labourer, Bachelor, of 90 Cotton St. son of Thomas Adlington, Mast & Block Marker, married Ann Jane Adlington, 23, Needlewoman, Spinster, of 27 Edward St, daughter of Benjamin Adlington, Mariner.

A birth registration was found for George Richard Adlington: Year of Registration: 1880; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: Stepney (To 1921); County: London, Middlesex; Volume: 1c; Page: 427. Parents: Thomas William Adlington and Ann Jane Adlington, married 1871 in Mile End, London, England.

On 17 September 1882, George Richard Adlington was baptised at Saint Paul, Bow Common, to Thomas William and Ann Jane Adlington of 4 Farrant Terrace. His father was a Carman. His brother Percival Stanley was also baptised at the same time.

In 1891, George R Adlington, 10 (along with brother, P S Adlington, 9), arrived at Portland, Maine, in a group of 40 Barnardo boys en route to Montreal, Quebec, Canada and final destination Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On February 18, 1903, at Waterloo, Elgin, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between George Addington, 22, farmer, born in England to Thomas Wm Addington and Annie Addington; and Jennie Dennis 25, born in Bayham, Ontario, Canada, to William B Dennis and Mary E Hagadorn.

Jennie Dennis Adlington died July 28, 1911, in Straffordville, Elgin, Ontario, Canada of abcess of tonsil and payemia (a type of septicaemia that leads to widespread abscesses of a metastatic nature).

On January 30, 1918, at Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between George Richard Adlington, 36, widower, farmer, born in England to Thomas Adlington and Annie Adlington; and Edith Garnham, 30, born in Bayham, Ontario, Canada, to Charles Garnham and Hettie Travis.

George Richard and Edith Garnham Adlington had at least one child: Mary Irene, born 1927 - died 1928.

George Richard Adlington died March 26, 1976, in Bayham, Elgin, Ontario, Canada. Edith O. Garnham Adlington died in 1972. George, Edith and Mary Irene Adlington are buried at Straffordville Cemetery with a headstone of red granite on white granite base.
