Notes A birth registration was found for Jessie Isabel Jordan: Date: Jan-Feb-Mar 1908; District: Mutford; County: Suffolk; Volume: 4a; Page: 1143. Mother: Isabel Frances Jordan.
In 1921, Jessie I Jordon, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 134 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She declared that her present occupation was school girl; that her intended occupation was in domestic work; that she her birthplace was unknown; that her passage was paid by Dr. Barnardo's Homes; that her destination was to Mrs. Hobday, Hazel Brae, Peterboro, Ontario, Canada; and that she had no relatives in England; and that her nearest relation was her mother, Miss Jordon, c/o Mr. Gilbert, 88 St. Leonards Road, Kirkley Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.
A juvenile inspector reported [T-15423]: JORDAN, Jessie I, 14, 1921 Barnardo to the Home in Peterboro then to King and Aurora. "Progress good, but sulky at times. Jessie is very happy in this situation,
would not care to leave".
Barnardos Ups and Downs, Vol XXXIII, No. 3, September 5, 1931 reported:
"Jessie Jordan has been here a long time and is still happy."
Jessie Isabel Jordan died on March 21, 2006.

JORDAN, Jessie Isabel (Long time employee of Eves Ladies Wear) - Peacefully at Mackenzie Place, Newmarket on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in her 100th year.
Lovingly remembered by friends Donna and Henry VandenBerg, and Muriel and the late Leon Nash. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, (Church & D'Arcy Streets) Newmarket on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. with visitation at the church from 1 p.m. Memorial donations to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket.
