NotesBeresford was placed at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. His brother Basil arrived on Ontranto in 1933 and another brother Donald Ivan arrived aboard Oronsay in 1937. They were orphans - both parents died in 1931.

Beresford was a Driver in the Australian Army 1940-45 (2/31 Battalion).

He died aged 94.
