NotesListed on the 1891 UK census as "pauper inmate". Born in Ormskirk, about 1889. Age in 1891 was listed as 2 years. 1901 UK census, different establishment, listed as "destitute and bereaved". Came to Canada on the SS Dominion, arriving in Portland in April, 1902. List of names, with notation "special group of children to Canada".
On April 3, 1913, he married one of my ancestors, Nellie Jordan, in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. On their marriage certificate, his mother's name is listed as Emma Elkin, father unknown. They had two children, Dorothy born in 1925, and Albert, not sure of birth year, but older than Dorothy.
