NotesParents: Spencer Frost and Esther Paine.

Ernest's father, Spencer Frost, was born August 11, 1843 in Haughley, Stow, Suffolk, England. On June 11, 1862 Spencer married Deborah Pittock. They had 8 children: Emily, Edward, Kate, Hannah, William Spencer, Alice and Arthur. Due to severe depression after the birth of Arthur, Deborah entered into a facility. On October 22, 1915, she died at Warley Hospital, Essex, England. After Deborah entered the facility, Esther Paine began caring for Deborah and Spencer's children. Spencer and Esther became partners and had 7 children of their own: Helena, Frank, Jesse (died young), Winifred, Ernest, Lizzie, and Charles.

On December 13, 1893 Spencer Frost died leaving Esther alone with 6 children. Four months later in 1894 Ernest (age 10) and Lizzie(age 7) were taken away from their mother and admitted to Barnardo Homes.

In 1894, Ernest Frost, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 86 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Esther Paine died on November 9, 1901 in Plaistow, West Ham, Essex, England.

On December 19, 1907, at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Ernest James Frost, 24, farmer, born in London, England, to Spencer Frost and Elizabeth (Esthere); and Rebecca Mary Coolridge (Cooledge), 21, born in London, England, to Robert and Rebecca Coolridge (Cooledge).

Ernest James and Rebecca Frost had 2 children: Spencer James Frost born June 29, 1910 and Ernest Frank Frost, born December 11, 1913.

The Ernest Frost family was known to have resided at Indian Head, Sedley, Qu'Appelle; and Odessa, Saskatchewan. The family eventually moved to Montana and then on to Washington State in the United States.

Ernest James Frost died in Bellingtham, Whatcom, Washington, USA, on November 2, 1977, at the age of 93. Social Security Administration recorded his birthdate as August 10, 1883.
