In 1913, Edward Alexander, 12 (along with brother, Leslie Alexander, 11, and sister, Kathleen Alexander, 9) arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 87 MacPherson children accompanied by Mrs. Merry and en route to Stratford or Hespeler, Ontario, Canada. He was described as 5 foot 5 inches in height; ruddy complexion; light brown hair; brown eyes. He had a scar over his right eye. He was born in Hastings, England.

He declared that he was a farmer; that his last permanent residence was in Odessa, Ontario, Canada; that his contact was his brother, Leslie Alexander, who resided in Chamberlain, Manitoba, Canada; that he carried $250 on his person; that he had previously visited the United States for 3 months in 1921; that his final destination was Michigan State Auto School in Detroit, Michigan; and that he intended to remain for 2 months. He was described as 5 foot 2 inches in height; fair complexion; brown hair; brown eyes. He had a scar over his right eye. He was born in Hastings, England.
