Notes Harold was moved from home to home after his father died. his mother was forced to give up 4 of her 7 children due to financial hardship.
Harold is listed on line 5 of the Canadian passenger list came to canada on the "Southwark" And arrived in Montreal, Quebec on July 1st 1904. He is reported as being 11 years old at the time. it is also noted that he can read and write. The note on the side of the page says For Ontario Dr. Barnado's Party in Transit. (roll T-485)
Was one of 199 Children in Dr. Barnardo's Party-198 boys and one Girl. 35 boys to Russell, Manitoba and 1 Girl to Ontario. Five boys were crossed off this list as not belonging to Dr. Barnardo's Party and two boys were added without ages. This gave a total of 198 children not counting the five said not to belong to Barnardo's.
