NotesHarry's parents were George Fawcett (born 1864) and Elizabeth Leah Chandler (born 1863).

A birth registration was found for Harry Ernest Fawcett: Year of Registration: 1893; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: St Saviour Southwark; County: London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 24.

George Fawcett died in Southwark, London, England in 1898 and was buried in the Nunhead cemetery. (Year of Registration: 1898; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; Age at Death: 34; District: St Saviour Southwark; County: London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 91.) Five of the children also died in close proximity to their father's death.

Harry (Henry) Fawcett was admitted with his surviving two brothers (Robert and Charles) to Barnardos Homes on November 5, 1900. One daughter, Jane E. Fawcett, remained with their mother.

Henry Fawcett, 7, along with his brothers, Charles and Robert Fawcett, arrived in Portland, Maine, with a group of 260 Dr. Barnardo children from London, England, to Toronto, Ontario (193), Peterborough, Ontario (6) and to Russell, Manitoba (60).

In 1901, Charles G. Fawcett and Henry E. Fawcett, are shown as boarders with Henry Greb and family in Monck, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. No birth date or immigration year is shown.

In 1911, Harry Fawcett, 17, was shown as an Apprentice Baker with Archibald Graham and family in Petrolia, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. His birth date is shown as May 1893 and his immigration year as 1901.

On September 24, 1915, Harry Ernest Fawcett enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was Mrs. E. Fawcett, who resided at 390 Brock Street South, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was 26 May 1893; that he was a baker; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 feet 10 inches in height; medium complexion; blue eyes; and brown hair. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He had a vaccination mark on his left arm.

Harry's mother, Elizabeth Chandler Fawcett, emigrated to Canada and died in Ontario in 1948.
