Albert Henry King was admitted to Norwood School, Lambeth, London, England, on March 12, 1890. Mother, Sarah King, died in the Lambeth Infirmary on July 18, 1895. Father, John King deserted from the Workhouse and was sent to prison for 21 days beginning August 21, 1895. Albert had a sister, Florence Sarah Rebecca King who was sent into service with Mrs. Egleton, 38 West Shell Road, Wandsworth SW, Londong, England on June 2, 1903; and a married sister, Mrs. Cowderoy, 22 Vining Street, Atlantic Road.
Albert was discharged to Barnardo Homes on June 12, 1901.
In 1901, Albert King, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a large group of Barnardo children: 239 to Toronto, Ontario; 68 to Winnipeg, Manitoba; 20 to Russell, Manitoba; and 3 to Peterborough, Ontario.
