NotesIn 1929, Sidney J. Cole, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of children and young men from the British Immigration and Colonization Association going primarily to Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario.

There was only one other 14 year old on the voyage with Sidney. Two of his older brothers had already traveled to Canada (both aged 19) and it had been assumed by family that he had been traveling out to one of them.

Sidney was one of 10 children. His brother Will had traveled to Canada in 1926 and his brother Alf in April 1929, both aged 19 at the time of travel. Sidney Cole, known as "Sid" served in World War II and married a girl called Sally. Sally died very young and Sid did not remarry. He eventually settled near his older brother, Alf.
