In 1910, Frederick Ganney, 14 (along with his brother Edward Ganney, 13) arrived in Quebec, Canada, with a group of 109 children accompanied by Mr. Merry en route to Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

In 1911, Fred Ganney, 15, was shown as a domestic / farmer with Hugh Hill and family in Colborne, Huron, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth is shown as March 1896 and his immigration year as 1910.

On January 29, 1915, Frederick Ganney enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (Service Number: 491223; Force: Army; Unit: Canadian Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment); Division: 2nd Battalion).
